I’m Vian K. Hussein, a 25-year-old Kurdish artist from Syria, now living in the UK. I’m an award-winning visual artist and interior designer, currently studying Interior Design at UCLan and working with The Fidget Interior Architecture in Windermere.
My work blends creativity, functionality, and inclusivity, with a focus on sustainable design. Since arriving in the UK, I’ve returned to education after a 10-year break and joined humanitarian and feminist groups to make a positive impact.
Through art, I explore themes of war, feminism, and identity. My work has been exhibited across the UK and Europe, including at the Whitworth Gallery, the Kunstlinie Centre in the Netherlands, and the Holy Art Gallery in London.
As an artist with DIPACT CIC, she plays a vital role as one of the lead artists for the Global Roots Canvas programme. Vian channels her deep focus on identity, inclusivity, and spatial design into our community-led initiatives. Through her artistic leadership, she helps create transformative environments where diverse participants can safely express their shared histories, explore sustainable creative practices, and build meaningful connections through the power of visual storytelling.
