ABOUT DIPACT

DIPACT is an artist-led creative organisation creating spaces where art, food, culture and lived experience come together. Founded in Manchester in 2016, we work with artists and communities to develop ambitious creative programmes that explore identity, belonging, displacement, memory and connection — all rooted in a commitment to celebrating and strengthening multiculturalism in Great Britain.

Our work is built on a simple belief: cultural spaces should be places where people feel genuinely welcomed, represented and able to contribute. Through programmes such as Global Roots Canvas and Global Roots Café, we invest in artists, create meaningful community experiences and develop new ways for people from different backgrounds to meet, make, share and shape culture together.

DIPACT’s work and leadership have received growing national and international recognition. In 2024, our model was recognised at the Refugee Summit at The Conduit in London as one of 12 global solutions responding to the refugee crisis. Our leadership has also been recognised through WeAreTheCity’s 20 Pioneers celebrating refugee women business owners in 2024, followed by the WeAreTheCity Rising Star Award in the Charity & Non-Profit category in 2025. Our work has also been connected with initiatives including the UNHCR Great British Welcome, reflecting the wider relevance of our approach to culture, belonging and forced migration.

From grassroots work in Greater Manchester to wider national and international recognition, DIPACT continues to grow as a platform for bold artistic practice, community-led creativity and new models of cultural belonging — contributing to a Great Britain where different cultures, histories and lived experiences are visible, valued and celebrated.
