My name is Karolina, and I am a conceptual artist and creative producer based in the UK.
I moved from Ukraine four years ago, and since then, my practice has become closely connected to questions of belonging, identity and the experience of building a new sense of home.
My main mediums are photography, digital art, videography and
performance, while I continuously explore new forms, materials and ways of working.
My practice explores themes of mental health, migration, identity,
belonging and the relationship between the individual and society. I am particularly interested in the emotional and psychological experiences that are often difficult to articulate, and in finding visual or performative ways to make them visible.
Alongside my individual artistic practice, community building and creative collaboration are an important part of my work. I see art not only as a way of expressing ideas, but also as a way of bringing people together, creating dialogue and making space for different experiences and perspectives.
